AD for Tuscany at Home
The contradictory character of Tuscany, revolutionary and conservative at the same time, harsh and kind, earthy and dreamer, and still, unique and indivisible: in short, the Tuscan specificity nurtured by history, culture, and tradition, here read through the lens of home living and the products related to the world of the home.
From this formulation comes an exhibition that places the spotlight on the examples of the art of doing and of doing artistically that in every place, starting from Florence, and in every product category flourish with abundance in the land of Da Vinci and Michelangelo.
Objects in marble and alabaster, inlays of precious stones, creations in glass and crystal, ceramics and porcelain, products in iron and bronze, leather goods, furniture and accessories, fabrics and upholstery, various types of lace (pillow lace in particular), wood floors, and on to silver and the inventions of goldsmithery. For each of these expressions of that "goodness of crafts" mentioned by Dino Compagni, a contemporary of Dante, AD for “Tuscany at Home” will give an evocative representation with the exhibition of original pieces resulting form the modernity of making things and with the contribution of audiovisuals showing the contemporary process of making them, as well as their "life" in the homes.
